She founded Pens and Poison in 2024, and writes for Persuasion[1] and Minding the Campus.
Early Life and Education
Libes was born in Chicago, Illinois. She earned both her B.A. and M.A. in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University, focusing on the work of T.S. Eliot.[2] Her academic background has greatly influenced her literary work, particularly her poetry and essays.
Career
Libes is the founder and CEO of Invictus Prep, a college consulting startup that aims to help students navigate the college admissions process.[3][4][5] Libes works frequently with Jewish students. In The National Review, Libes discussed the trend of Jewish high school students reconsidering Ivy League aspirations due to campus antisemitism.[6]
Libes is also the founder of Pens and Poison, a literary newsletter and podcast that explores the intersections of humanities education, literature, and culture.[7][8]
