She is recognized for her contributions as a "PR Guru" and as the founder of PamPerryPR, a marketing and PR firm that serves a diverse clientele, including entrepreneurs, corporations, authors, ministry leaders, and experts.[1]
Dr. Perry is known for founding Blacks in Advertising, Radio, & Television (BART), the National Association of Black Podcasters, and the Chocolate Pages Network. She is the founder and publisher of Speakers Magazine and serves as the CEO of Ministry Marketing Solutions, a public relations consulting firm. Additionally, she hosts the podcast "Get Out There and Get Known."[2]
As an accomplished author, Dr. Perry has written two books, "Synergy Energy: How to Use the Power of Partnerships to Market Your Book, Grow Your Business, and Brand Your Ministry" and "115 PR Tips on How to Brand Your Ministry."[3]
Dr. Perry has been featured in numerous major publications and has appeared on over 100 radio and TV programs. In 2022, she received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award in Houston, Texas, and an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Philosophy in Humanities.[4]
Early life and education
Dr. Perry was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, during the 1960s. During her formative years, she gained a profound understanding of the significance and potency of public relations and marketing.
Her natural aptitude for writing led her to focus on promoting individuals and publications, particularly books. After graduating from Cass Technical High School, she pursued a major in journalism and public relations at Wayne State University, graduating in 1983.
Career
Following her graduation, Dr. Perry embarked on a media career that included positions at the Detroit Free Press and various radio stations. Her accomplishments in the field led to her winning a local Emmy for her work as a TV talk show producer. Additionally, Dr. Perry served as the Public Relations Director for The Salvation Army, overseeing public relations activities for the Eastern Michigan Division.[5]
In 1996, Dr. Perry founded PamPerryPR, a public relations (PR) firm that helps speakers and authors build their brands. The firm offers services such as PR campaigns, speaking engagements, podcasting, book promotions, and content development. PamPerryPR serves high-profile, emerging, and corporate thought leaders who leverage social media and digital PR to stand out in their industries. Clients who have collaborated with Dr. Perry have achieved notable media recognition. They have been featured on platforms such as CNN, TBN, NBC, The Word Network, Radio One, Oprah Magazine, the Steve Harvey Show, Essence, Ebony, Black Enterprise, PBS, and other media outlets.[6]
Dr. Perry has also collaborated with nonprofit organizations, such as the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History and the Detroit Area Agency on Aging. Her work involved enhancing their social media presence, online branding, and digital marketing initiatives to strengthen their outreach and impact.[7]
In 2000, Dr. Perry established Ministry Marketing Solutions, a public relations consulting firm. The firm provides branding services to authors, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits, including blog site development, email marketing, article marketing, online videos, podcasting, social media management, PR coaching, digital marketing, virtual assistance, keyword research, and traffic-building techniques.[8]
In 2017, Dr. Perry founded Speakers Magazine, an award-winning publication showcasing African-American speakers and sharing their success strategies. The magazine is distributed at conferences and events with on-site coverage, social media engagement, and live interviews to create buzz within the speaking industry.[9]
In 2019, Dr. Perry co-founded Digital Business Acceleration (DBA), an organization dedicated to helping coaches, consultants, and speakers enhance their digital marketing strategies for sustainable and scalable results. DBA focuses on developing cohesive online business systems that integrate essential components for effective marketing, branding, and PR efforts.[10]
Dr. Perry serves as a media consultant for the National Publicity Summit, assisting guests in refining their pitches and securing bookings. She is also a member of Women Elevating Women, a community that champions marginalized and multicultural women and Women of Color Entrepreneurs and Executives. It fosters strategic alliances to promote business expansion and professional development.[11]
Dr. Perry is the vice president of marketing at Advantage Communications Inc., a leading multicultural advertising, digital marketing, and PR firm with a focus on social impact. She also contributes to BIZBoost and USA Wire as a news executive and editorial contributor, leveraging her journalism and media skills.[12]
In September 2020, Dr. Perry launched a weekly podcast titled "Get Out There and Get Known." This podcast focuses on unveiling the strategies for gaining visibility and credibility that lead to bookings in prominent media outlets and on prestigious stages. With nearly 122 episodes to date, the podcast is available on various platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon, iHeart Radio, and soon, the Ebony Podcast Network, where a new podcast for Speakers Magazine will also be featured.[13]
Dr. Perry has garnered recognition as a PR Guru and has been featured in major publications. She has also appeared on over 100 radio and TV programs. Additionally, Dr. Perry has been a guest on various podcasts, including The Sales Podcast, Tough Decisions Network, Black Entrepreneur Blueprint, NetStruc Talks, The Small Business with Lori Brooks Show, and PB & Style Podcast.[14]

Dr. Perry is the author of two books: "115 PR Tips to Brand Your Ministry," released in December 2012, which provides a comprehensive guide to PR strategies including branding, event promotion, and internet PR campaigns; and "Synergy Energy: How to Use the Power of Partnerships to Market Your Book, Grow Your Business, and Brand Your Ministry," published in April 2017, which focuses on effective publicity, branding, joint ventures, and marketing systems.[16]
