He is the founder of My Wife Didn't Cook Corp,[1] one of the fastest-growing restaurants in New Britain,[2] and DMTS Network,[3] an entertainment platform that helps artists and creators gain market traction by showcasing their talents.[4]
Tanksley has started many initiatives to help the youth in the US, especially African Americans, troubled youth, and those who come from financially weak backgrounds—such as New Britain Legacies,[5] a basketball mentoring program that has a presence in youth jails all over the state. Tanksley is also an active member of the NAACP, one of the largest civil rights organizations in the USthat works primarily to attain justice for African Americans.
As a motivational public speaker, Tanksley by sharing his life story and how he overcame obstacles helps other people to live better lives. He has established a solid platform in his name and is aggressively using his influence to elevate people's lives across Connecticut.
Early life and education
Tanksley was born on 1 April 1986 to Michael and Darlene. He grew up with three brothers and a sister in a poverty-stricken household and a crime-infused neighborhood and witnessed everyday struggles. By the age of 11, Tanksley had been in and out of jail a couple of times during which he had to deal with his parents' addiction problems. Later, after getting a hold of his life, Tanksley acquired a diploma in electrical engineering with GED.
Career
Tanksley is a serial entrepreneur, who, throughout his career, has established multiple businesses that have all been associated with some of the other philanthropic ventures.[6] He is a firm advocate of helping people live better lives and has been committed to furthering this agenda.[7]
Tanksley is the founder and owner of the My Wife Didn’t Cook restaurant chain that has gained recognition for its quality food and service across Connecticut.[8] Since its inception, the restaurant has also been working towards bringing a change in society and has birthed a number of job opportunities to help people from financially weak backgrounds a chance to earn and feed their families. My Wife Didn’t Cook helps during times of disasters in the area and has always organized food camps to feed affected people.[9]
In order to further broaden his reach and philanthropic endeavors, Tanksley ran in the 2019 Mayoral elections but did not win.[10] Even so, he remained committed to his service to humanity and the community as a whole and went on to start other ventures.[11]
Tanksley founded We Believe Academy, a mentorship and prep school that sends students to colleges around the United States, and also New Britain Legacies, a basketball mentoring program that has a presence in youth jails all over the state.[12]
Apart from his active involvement in the community service sector, Tanksley has also been active in the entertainment industry and has earned recognition for his EP, Poverty 2 Prodigy.[13] He also established DMTS Network, an entertainment platform that helps artists and creators flourish with their talents.

Personal life
Tanksley is married to Jaci Tanksley, with six kids - Lili, Deivone jr. Dontey, Yusef, Esco, Uniqui. In his free time, he loves to read, write, play basketball, and listen to music.
