Early Life and Education
Stephens earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Princeton University, where his studies focused on information warfare and national security.
Career
Stephens has co-founded multiple ventures:
- Oncology.com: Stephens helped transform Oncology.com into the biggest network of cancer-related websites on the internet by serving as a founding investor and Head of Corporate & Business Development. In 2001, Pharmacia (now Pfizer) purchased the business.[1]
- Stephens Investment Management (SIM): In 2002, Stephens co-founded this hedge fund and venture capital firm, pioneering the "Nanocap" investment strategy—venture capital-style investing in sub-micro-cap equities.[2]
- Blockchain Capital: In 2013, Stephens co-founded Blockchain Capital, a venture capital firm specializing in blockchain technology investments. Under his leadership, the firm has invested in over 100 companies and crypto-assets, including notable projects like 1inch Network, Aave, Circle, Dfinity, Filecoin, and OpenSea.[3]
