Simone Spence (born February 27, 1968) is an American author, entrepreneur, and child support enforcement advocate. Spence's work focuses on creating a pathway to economic justice by supplying tools to mothers to collect unpaid child support. She has written three books on the subject. She founded a technology company, Don't Get Mad Get Paid.
Biography
Early life
Spence was born in Manhattan. She lived in the Bronx until she was about 8 years old. Then her family moved to Long Island where she spent most of her childhood and early adulthood. Since 2013 she has lived in New Orleans, LA.
She earned a BA, Communications from New York Institute of Technology
Career
After personal experience with a child support-collection problem, Spence began consulting with moms on how to gather the proper paperwork to collect their child support. As a consultant for more than 20 years, she personally helped more than 10k women to collect over $15M by drawing upon her experience and honing her expertise of navigating the complex child support enforcement system to create a system that produced results.
Spence founded Don’t Get Mad Get Paid,[1] a tech company in 2017. Don’t Get Mad Get Paid is a nationwide service that automates the search for the non-custodial parent that owes child support. It also generates the state-specific paperwork needed by the custodial parent to collect the back child support that they are owed.
