He is the founder and CEO of Official Patriot Gear,[2] a clothing brand based in the USA that offers T-shirts, hats, hoodies and other various products. In an interview, Wendt shares that his company’s mission is to raise a feeling of belongingness and pride toward one’s own country.

Wendt specializes in providing professional training to individuals and companies on leadership, sales and marketing skills. He has over two decades of experience as a sales and marketing expert across B2C and B2B industries and has gained prolific clientele. He is a keynote speaker at several events across the country and has shared the stage with some successful motivators, entrepreneurs and influencers, including Ed Mylett, Tim Grover, Dan Fleyshman and Brad Lea.

Early life and education

Wendt was born to Tharon Wendt and Maureen Halpin in Middletown, New York. His father worked as an insurance agent. Wendt was always inspired by his father's work ethic and hard work with which he provided for a family of eight. Wendt had a challenging childhood because his parents divorced when he was three years old. Wendt attended high school in Pine Bush, New York and attended Brigham Young University, Idaho, immediately upon graduation. After completing two semesters, Wendt moved to Nicaragua to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints. He returned after two years, rejoined the university, and completed his Bachelor’s degree.

Career

After completing his education, Wendt joined DishOne as a sales representative and sold satellite TV and internet solutions to consumers across the country. With his skills, he soon became the top performer at DishOne. After getting promoted to sales manager, Wendt was offered a leadership position in the training department, where he implemented a training program called “Edison,” which is now used company-wide. In 2018, when DishOne was renamed Caliber Smart, Wendt took up the position of Vice President of Training and Marketing. In 2020, Ian joined Signal Relief as the Chief Marketing Officer.[3]

In October 2020, Wendt founded Official Patriot Gear, a clothing brand based in the USA that sells T-shirts, hats, hoodies, and more. Its products are worn by people around the world to represent freedom and patriotic values.[4]

With his varied experience and skills in sales, marketing, training and leadership, Wendt continues to coach companies and individuals to attend high-performance levels in their professional and personal lives. He is also an influential speaker and has spoken at various events across the country, sharing the stage with some notable people like Ed Mylett, Tim Grover, Dan Fleyshman and Brad Lea. Additionally, he has also been featured on major podcasts such as “Real AF” with Andy Frisella and, “Dropping Bombs” with Brad Lea.[5]

He uses his Instagram to raise awareness about major issues causing distress and trouble in the country and continues to raise funds and provide resources for various veteran organizations as well as other charitable organizations that stand in need. Within a short span of time, Wendt has gained huge popularity with almost 100,000 followers on Instagram.

Personal life

Wendt’s parents, Tharon Wendt and Maureen Halpin, separated when he was three. His father remarried Linda Wendt when he was seven years old. Wendt is the eldest and has five younger siblings: Kyle, Kiersten, Cooper, Afton and Emma. In 2015, Wendt got married to Madeline Ruth Rice and had two children, Miles and Sloane. He believes his family to be the greatest supporters and motivation in his journey.
