Shawn G is a renowned marketing and hospitality executive. He has over five years of experience playing at various nightclubs, weddings, private events, festivals and has also produced several original tracks and remixes. Not only that, but Shawn G has also managed several prolific clients such as Rapper Casanova.
Shawn G has been featured in several media outlets including Medium, American Daily Post, The Source, AP News, Latestly, and others.[3][4][5]
Early life and education
Shawn G was born on October 25th, 1996. He hails from a lower-middle-class family, the south section of Brooklyn, New York. Shawn G's parents got divorced when he was young, so he grew up in the same household with his mother, at his maternal grandparent's home. Shawn graduated from James Madison High Schools Law Program in Brooklyn in 2014. He later enrolled in John Jay College.
As a teen, Shawn developed a keen interest in DJIng and music, with a particular focus on the Hip Hop genre.
Career
Shawn began his career as a DJ in 2009. After two years of practise Shawn got his first gig at a local Macy’s in Kings Plaza Shopping Mall, where he performed under the stage name Shawn G. Soon after that, Shawn G started working for a DJ Entertainment company catering to the NY/Tri-state area and hosted an online hip hop music video countdown show called Video City TV.[6]
Shawn G gained much recognition in his initial career, through which he built his network via live events, meeting Internet stars on the platform such as Vine Jabbar Hakeem (3 Million+ Followers) and LiveLikeDavis (3.5M+ followers) and began managing their transition from online comedy to musicians.[7]
In 2015 Shawn G also managed creative and monetization for Youtubers, Coby Persin and Dennis Cee with a combined subscriber count of over 8 Million with almost 1 Billion cumulative views. In 2016, Shawn G signed a two year contract with the TruTV’s producers to work as a production lead on the season 5 and 6 of Impractical Jokers. In the same year, Shawn G also released a music single titled I ain’t coming down. Other songs produced by Shawn G are LLD’s Run It Up and G Sessions 2016/17.
In 2018, Shawn G founded Today’s Tomorrow, INC, a talent and event management firm headquartered in New York.[8] Since its inception, Shawn G has organized multiple events and managed several artists also working alongside his childhood friend Michael Turkowitz, popularly known as Hip Hop Mike on New York City’s Hot 97 radio station.
In 2019 Shawn G co-founded another entrepreneurial venture The Heartbeat Group, INC, which was a marketing agency but shortly dissolved the company in order to start his own firm.
Shawn G in 2020 founded Tomorrow’s Group, INC., a multi-platform company that deals in artist management, event management, and several other aspects in the industry. As of 2021, the company manages over 40 social media accounts of prolific people.
Shawn G also started working with Roc Nation artist Casanova on day to day operations as acting management. In November 2020 Casanova was indicted by the FBI on R.I.C.O. charges. Shawn is still supporting Caswell Senior aka Casanova and is co-managing his music career while Casanova fights for his innocence.
