== Early life ==
Wallace was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on August 16, 1956 and grew up in the South Baltimore neighborhood of Cherry Hill. As one of five boys born to parents who migrated to Baltimore in their early years, the family struggled to overcome poverty, racism, and social dysfunction. ==Career==
After training and experience gained at organizations such as IBM, Westinghouse, DuPont, and Procter & Gamble, Wallace went on to establish three companies: BITHGROUP Technologies, Inc., a health IT, education IT, and enterprise services provider; Bithenergy, Inc., a renewable energy services and energy technology company; and Robert Wallace Media, which includes RobertWallace.com and EntreTeach Learning Systems, LLC.

Wallace has authored several books on entrepreneurship development, wealth creation, strategic partnerships, and the intersection between “spiritual fortitude” and entrepreneurial success. These books include:

Wallace has been married to his wife, Carolyn, since 1978. They have five children and ten grandchildren. A church elder, Wallace frequently leads groups on mission trips to various countries in Africa and Latin America, where he has helped start businesses, orphanages, medical clinics, and schools. Wallace’s influence has taken on a global dimension as he regularly mentors entrepreneurs, community leaders, and STEM students from all over the world.  

Wallace helped establish Global Vessels International, a faith-based nonprofit that pursues humanitarian projects around the world to meet the physical, economic, and emotional, and spiritual needs of people in emerging nations.

==Education==

Wallace earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics at the University of Pennsylvania , and his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where he began his research on the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs using his “success profiling” and “success modeling” techniques . He was also awarded a Doctorate of Humane Letters (honorary) from Sojourner-Douglass College.

Garnering 47,275 votes, Wallace made history by becoming the first independent candidate for Mayor of Baltimore City, effectively altering the political dynamics of the City of Baltimore.  His other notable accomplishments include:
